10.Transport Policy
S.No. Description
10.01. Mechanical transport of educational institutions will be operated according to the following procedure:-
  1. The vehicles will be used for the specified duties as authorized by the Principal.
  2. The vehicle will follow the approved route and be not allowed to have any diversion from the approved route.
  3. The vehicles will only be driven by the appointed drivers. However, in emergency a valid license holder employee of the college/school can be permitted by Principal to drive the vehicle.
  4. That the transport stops at all the pre-fixed pick up/drop points to pick up the teachers and students for coming to the school and going back from the school.
  5. That no un-authorized person under any circumstances is allowed to travel in the vehicle.
  6. In case of any emergency or untoward incident, driver must immediately inform school/college management as well as transport officer of Main Camp through available means.
  7. Drivers will adjust the timings in such a way that the transport reaches school/college/school five minutes before the morning assembly.
  8. The requisition form will be raised in duplicate for each duty, other than pick & drop of the students and duly approved by the Principal. A complete record of movements will be maintained by the college/school/school Transport Incharge.
  9. The vehicles will be used for official purposes only. However, in case of exceptional situations where an employee requires a vehicle it may be given on prevailing rate per kilometer alongwith overtime for the drivers if kept for more than one hour within the radius of 30 kilometers.
10.02. The following procedure will be followed for the maintenance of these vehicles:-
  1. A mileage register and repairs record/fuel consumption register will be maintained for each vehicle.
  2. The monthly mileage and all other entries in ink will be made in the logbook.
  3. All repairs/maintenance will be carried out after obtaining prior approval of the expenditure from Managing Director OPF.
  4. Maintenance, upkeep and utilization of college/school/school vehicles will be the responsibility of college/school/school Transport Incharge.
10.03. Proper monthly record of students and staff availing the bus facility will be maintained by the transport and administration department of the school/college on the customized software for this purpose.
