The OPF Internship Programme has been designed in line with National Internship Programme for the benefit of unemployed Pakistani post graduates and graduates to harness the energy and motivation of educated youth as paid interns as well as to fill in the temporary gap of teachers and admin staff, which arises due to leave, resignation and termination of employees in OPF educational institutions. |
| Main Features: |

- Minimum qualification to enroll into the programme is Master’s degree/B.A, B.Sc with B.Ed in teaching subject for teaching faculty. The qualification of Admin staff will be requisite qualification of that category specified in recruitment rules.
- The candidates between the ages of 25 to 35 years will be eligibility for the Internship Program.
- The internship duration will be for a period of 1 year.
- The internees will be paid monthly stipend between Rs. 10,000/- to Rs. 15,000/- (all inclusive) depending on qualification and experience of the internee during the internship period. They will not be entitled for accommodation, traveling expenses or any other fringe benefits during the term of their internship.
- This shall not create any right in favour of internee so employed to seek regularization without competing on open merit with all applications for a regular posts as per rules and procedures.
- The internees will be required to join the programme on full time basis and follow prescribed rules and regulations of OPF Educational Institutions including observance of office working time, confidentiality requirements etc.
- Candidates selected for Internees will not be entitled to annual/medical/maternity/ex-Pakistan leave without pay. They will not be given leave for more than two days at a stretch in one month.Internees will be required to abide by the rules of OPF educational institutions.
- Each Educational Institution will be assigned an appropriate number of interns each year in teaching and administrative categories of staff for filling the vacancies which fall vacant due to resignation, leave or retirement of an employee of the institution. The interns will be placed preferably near to their home town.
- A separate fund will be kept in the budget for payment of honorarium to the internees.
- The Education Division will maintain a file of each internee which would include:
- Application
- Joining report
- Attested photocopies of NIC and educational qualification, certificates/ degrees.
- National Idendity Carde
- Matriculation Certificate
- F.A/F.Sc Certificate
- Graduate Certificate
- Final Degree or Transcript
- Passport size photograph.

The Principal of Education Institution will be responsible for enrolment of internees as per requirement keeping in view the student teacher ratio with approval of the Managing Director, OPF being competent authority under the rules. The internees on joining the programme will be given a three days “Orientation Programme” by the respective institution. |

The internees will be issued programme completion certificates on successful completion of internship by OPF Head Office based on a formal performance rating mechanism. The rating mechanism will include 20 marks for attendance and 50 marks for performance during the internship to be given by respective Principal. 30 marks will be allocated to the “Internship Report” to be produced and presented by the internee. |

The Performance of an internee will be assessed on his/her formal grading structure and will be awarded internship certificates having grades based on following criteria:
| I. 80-100 marks | Grade ‘A” |
| II. 60-79 marks | Grade ‘B’ |
| III. 40-59 marks | Grade ‘C’ |
| IV. Less than 40 marks | Grade ‘D’ (Unsatisfactory performance) |

Rotation and Placement. |
| |
Although the interns may be expected to focus on a given area as per their work plan and the academic background, it will be nonetheless useful to explore the possibility to rotate the interns on multiple positions/sections within the organization. This could enhance the comprehensive understanding of the interns about the organization besides providing a better opportunity to benefit from the presence of the interns through multiple tasking as per the emerging requirements and priorities of the organization. It may be useful to provide a tentative rotation/placement schedule as part of the approved work plan of the interns. |

Focal Person and Output Evaluation. |

The Education Division will designate Officers in OPF Grade-9 to serve as focal person for all matters related to placement and activities of the interns in a specific educational institution. The final evaluation and certification of the intern’s successful stay will also be subject to the approval of the focal person. Similarly, the focal person will also be responsible for the coordination of the internship initiative with all stakeholders for the policy matters and feedback. |
